Oconee Writers Association

The OCONEE WRITERS ASSOC. is a group of local writers and poets who meet regularly  to present their work for peer critique, guidance and encouragement.

We are located in the County of Oconee in the State of South Carolina in the vicinity of the cities of Seneca, Walhalla, Westminster and Clemson.

Our Members span all levels of expertise and experience and cover all genres.

We  meet every second and fourth Saturday of each month. The current meeting place is the community room of the Seneca Library, located at 300 East, South Second Street (same street as the Art Center) in Seneca SC. The meetings run from 10 A.M. to Noon.

Meetings are devoted to members reading or reciting their work; past, present or in-process. Portions of some meetings are devoted to presentations of basic elements of composition, grammar, punctuation, writing business, etc. etc.

Readers are encouraged to bring hand-outs (six minimum) of their presentations so listeners can also critique the elements of the composition(s). It results in more meaningful feedback.

Guests are always welcome and will be allowed to read if they wish.

The group creates, organizes, executes and publishes an annual Anthology of the members works. Only active members may submit entries.

Join us and become better than you are!
